Free parking announced in Sharjah for the first three days of Eid Al Fitr 2025

Sharjah: As Eid Al Fitr approaches, Sharjah has launched a large-scale operational plan to manage transport, ease traffic congestion, and enhance public safety during the holiday.

Intercity bus trips
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced it will operate over 7,000 intercity bus trips throughout the Eid holiday, reducing wait times between buses to just five minutes during peak hours — down from 45 minutes on regular days. This aims to ease congestion and improve passenger comfort for those traveling between emirates.

Additionally, 12 public bus routes will run 1,144 trips daily across 546 stops using a fleet of 104 buses. The popular Route 203 to Muscat will also remain operational, providing residents and tourists with a safe and convenient regional travel option.

To complement land transport, the authority will operate eight daily marine trips between Sharjah and Dubai, offering a scenic and efficient travel alternative.

Free parking
Meanwhile, Sharjah Municipality has confirmed free public parking on the first three days of Eid, except in blue-signposted paid zones, which remain active year-round, including on public holidays. Inspection teams will monitor violations and prevent misuse of parking spaces.

Ensuring health compliance
Beyond mobility, the city has intensified public health and safety efforts. Sharjah Municipality has deployed 134 inspectors to monitor food establishments and personal care businesses, such as barbershops and beauty salons, which typically see increased demand during the holiday. Inspections will run around the clock to ensure compliance with health standards.
Enhancing beach safety
An additional 186 inspectors from the Public Inspection Department will focus on curbing negative behaviours, enhancing beach safety with increased lifeguard presence, and monitoring green spaces to ensure community guidelines are followed.
Eid prayer preparations
Preparations for Eid prayers have also been completed, including sanitation, pest control, and logistical support to accommodate large congregations expected early in the morning.

Sharjah’s public parks are ready to welcome visitors, offering serene spaces for families to gather and celebrate. The municipality has set up response teams to handle public inquiries and reports via its 24/7 hotline at 993.
