Muscat : A dust storm has impacted several areas in northern Oman, according to an official update released on June 2. Satellite imagery confirms the continued presence of dust over multiple regions, raising concerns about reduced visibility and potential health impacts.
The development follows an earlier advisory issued on Sunday evening, which indicated that a dust storm originating from the Islamic Republic of Iran was moving southward toward the coastal areas along the Sea of Oman. Authorities had warned that the advancing dust front could significantly reduce horizontal visibility in affected areas over the following hours.
Residents in impacted regions are advised to exercise caution, particularly while driving, and to stay indoors if possible to avoid respiratory issues caused by dust inhalation.
