Dry run of COVID vaccination a success in Kerala

The dry run (mock drill) for the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination in Kerala has been successfully completed. The dry run was conducted at 46 centres in all the districts of the State. It was conducted at the District Medical College / District Hospital, Private Hospital and Urban / Rural Health Center. Kozhikode district had the highest number of dry runs. The dry run was held at 5 centres in Kozhikode district. Parashala Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram District, Govt. LPS The dry run was held at Kalathukal (Aruvikkara Family Health Center) and Nimes Medicity.

K.K. Shailaja, Minister for Health, congratulated officials and health workers. The dry run was conducted in collaboration with Health Kerala, District Administration and Hospitals in coordination with the Health Department. “Kerala has vast experience in the field of vaccination. Therefore, the State is ready to distribute the COVID vaccine as soon as possible,” she said. The Minister also said that vaccine storage facilities are being set up at various centres across the State.

The dry run took place from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. About 25 health workers from each centre participated in the dry run. The dry run was performed following all the procedures.

So far 3,54,897 people have registered for COVID vaccination. There are 1,67,751 registered in the government sector and 1,87,146 in the private sector. In addition, the registration of 570 employees of the Social Security Mission’s Vyomitra scheme and 1,344 employees of Kaniv 108 Ambulance is in progress.
