Crown Prince of Dubai goes on a bike ride with top business leaders

On November 15, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, went on a corporate cycling trial for Dubai Fitness Challenge, an event he backs and which encourages residents to take part in 30 minutes of physical activity a day for 30 days.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, who celebrated his 38th birthday the day before, joined company chiefs for the bike ride followed by discussions business and sport. “We talked about ways to overcome current challenges through the flourishing partnership that has long connected Dubai to its private sector,” he wrote on Twitter.

Sheikh Hamdan rode a bike made by Colnago as he accompanied 30 business leaders for a 20-kilometre tour of Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan has long been a fan of cycling and Colnago.

Colnago is a bike manufacturing company founded in 1954 by Italian entrepreneur Ernesto Colnago. It has produced bikes that have won 62 world championships, including the recent Tour de France when Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates won the title.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge, now in its fourth year, runs until November 28. On November 20, Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to traffic and become a cycling track for the first time as part of the challenge.
