Muscat : As per a statement from the CPA, the consumer had entered into an agreement with the establishment to purchase ceramics worth RO 3,000, making a down payment of RO 1,000. However, the company failed to deliver the agreed-upon goods and services. The consumer subsequently filed a complaint with the CPA’s Suwaiq Office, prompting an investigation.
The service provider was found to be breaching contractual obligations and was made to refund RO 1,000 to the consumer.
The Consumer Protection Authority reiterates its call for suppliers to comply with consumer protection laws and regulations, adhere to contractual commitments, and ensure the quality and inspection of commodities before selling them to consumers. This ensures fairness, builds trust, and prevents legal accountability.
