As the novel coronavirus continues to spread havoc in all nooks of the world, one of the former lead members of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force has warned that this deadly pathogen will never be eradicated. The health expert revealed that the coronavirus which is now creating chaos everywhere is pretty much different from SARS, which emerged in early 2000 and was later contained.
“I think with a combination of good public health measures, a degree of global herd immunity and a good vaccine, which I do hope and feel cautiously optimistic that we will get, I think when we put all three of those together, we will get control of this, whether it’s this year or next year. I’m not certain. I don’t really see us eradicating it,” said Fauci during an interview given to TB Alliance.
The comments from Fauci literally contradict the views of United States President Donald Trump who has several times called this pathogen ‘China Virus’. A few months back, Trump had also claimed that this killer pandemic will ‘just disappear’ from the globe without any traces.
However, Anthony Fauci holds a different view, and he claims that coronavirus will not just disappear, and it may resurge if given an opportunity.
According to the latest statistics, coronavirus has already claimed the lives of more than 6,30,355 people worldwide. In the United States alone more than 1,46,185 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 infection.
