The West Bengal government has decided to go into complete lockdown in the state for two days to fight the spike in coronavirus cases. State Home Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay said they government took this decision following the community transmission in a few areas in West Bengal.

In West Bengal, at least 2,278 people tested positive for the virus. Now the tally has reached to 42,487.
