Bangladesh Helpdesk’ Launched at GDRFA’s Al Awir Centre for Amnesty Seekers

Dubai: The Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai has inaugurated a dedicated ‘Bangladesh Helpdesk’ at the Al Awir Amnesty Centre of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA). This new helpdesk is designed to provide prompt advice and guidance to Bangladeshi amnesty seekers.

On Thursday, Consul General BM Jamal Hossain visited the Al Awir Centre and met with Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA. During the visit, Hossain expressed gratitude to Lt General Al Marri for the well-organized services and facilities available for amnesty seekers.

Lt General Al Marri urged Bangladeshi expatriates who are residing illegally in the UAE to take advantage of the amnesty opportunity without delay. He advised them to bring the necessary documents when visiting the Al Awir Centre or Amer Centres for amnesty services.

Consul General Hossain also engaged with representatives from 18 companies offering direct employment opportunities at the Al Awir Centre, discussing job prospects for Bangladeshi applicants.

Bangladeshi officials including Counselor (Labour Welfare) Md Abdus Salam, Counselor (Passport and Visa) Mohammad Kazi Faisal, Head of Embassy Ashfaq Hossain, and First Secretary (Press) Arifur Rahman were also present at the event.
