With India stopping UAE airlines from chartering repatriation flights to India, many desperate Indians in the emirates’ have been left in the lurch.
Mrinal Saha was one such person who needed to urgently reach home as his one-year-old daughter need to undergo spinal surgery.
When he could not find a seat in a Vande Bharat Mission, Mrinal Saha was provided with a seat in one of the chartered flights by the Purvanchal Pravasi Milan. Around 175 passengers boarded the flight from Dubai to Kolkata.
Bhojpuri film actress Kanak Pandey and Purvanchal Pravasi Milan activists had come to the airport to send these expatriates home. The organization has helped more than 1,300 expatriates to return to India. The organisaton has been active with social activities during the lockdown period. Chairman of the organisations Saikat Kumar called for a change in government attitude towards expatriates.
