KUWAIT CITY: Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said he hopes the GCC-US summit will be a gateway to resolving regional issues. The Emir expressed his desire to increase GCC investment in the United States and proposed a GCC-U.S. forum for cultural and educational dialogue. The Emir was speaking at the GCC-U.S. Summit in Riyadh. Expressing his delight at the summit, the Emir thanked Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud for the warm welcome and organization.
He thanked U.S. President Trump for attending the summit. The Emir welcomed the US President’s announcement to lift sanctions on Syria. The Emir noted that the summit is taking place amid critical international circumstances, including growing tensions, conflicts, and cross-border challenges. The GCC states support the stability and security of the region. They also pointed out that they reject all violations of their territories, maritime zones, and capabilities. The Emir expressed hope that the summit will be successful and that the Gulf-U.S. partnership will continue to grow.
