DUBAI: Launched by the Abu Dhabi-headquartered Advanced Technology Research Council’s (ATRC) VentureOne, Nabat combines artificial intelligence, robotics, and ecological expertise to revolutionize conservation strategies. Developed by the Technology Innovation Institute, Nabat’s data-driven approach tailors solutions to specific ecosystems, ensuring sustainable and efficient restoration.
Key to Nabat’s innovation is the use of autonomous drones and precision mapping, which allow for targeted seeding and monitoring while minimizing disruption to fragile habitats. Unlike traditional methods, this approach ensures seeds are planted where they have the best chance to thrive, safeguarding the UAE’s coastlines and biodiversity.
Mangroves, known for combating climate change and protecting coastlines, are the initiative’s initial focus. With its first planting season completed, Nabat has already shown promising results and aims to expand its reach. In collaboration with government entities, the project plans to restore thousands of hectares of mangroves across the UAE in the coming years.
