Aamir Khan’s brother says bias exists in Bollywood, blames Karan Johar

NIRMAL YESODA

Post the death of popular young actor Sushant Singh Rajput, nepotism debates have shrouded Bollywood, and now, Aamir Khan’s brother Faisal Khan has revealed that the Indian film industry is also a place of favoritism and bias. Faisal Khan made these shocking remarks while talking with Bollywood Hungama, and he recollected an incident where filmmaker Karan Johar insulted him without any reason.

The alleged incident which Faisal Khan recollected happened on the occasion of Aamir Khan’s 50th birthday bash. Faisal revealed that Karan Johar behaved in a weird manner with him, and the director intentionally insulted him while he was talking to someone.

“If your work flops, they don’t treat you well; they don’t even look at you and it has happened to me. On my brother’s 50th birthday, I was looked down upon by someone, I don’t wish to take the name. But, Karan Johar acted weird with me; he put me down. He insulted me when I was trying to talk to someone and trying to disconnect with the person I was talking to. So, a lot of such things have happened and even I have been through it,” said Faisal Khan.

Faisal Khan also talked about the bitter experience he faced from filmmakers even after he proved his mettle in the movie ‘Mela’ which also starred Aamir Khan in another prominent role.

However, Faisal made it clear that people without a film background can also mark their presence felt in the industry. According to Faisal Khan, star kids will get an initial advantage in the industry, but people will survive only according to their talent. He also cited the examples of Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushman Khurana and Akshay Kumar who made it big in Bollywood without the help of Godfathers.

“At the end of the day, you’ll get a break in the industry due to nepotism and favouritism. If your father is a big director then he can make a few calls and people to cast you, but you will have to prove your worth in the end. There’s no theory or formula for success,” added Faisal Khan.
