6,282 infected with COVID-19 in Kerala on Jan 30

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 6,282 people in Kerala on January 30. The district-wise number of infected are Ernakulam 859, Kozhikode 822, Kollam 688, Pathanamthitta 556, Alappuzha 526, Thrissur 524, Kottayam 487, Malappuram 423, Thiruvananthapuram 350, Kannur 321, Palakkad 256, Wayanad 187, Idukki 181 and Kasaragod 102.
COVID-19 was confirmed within the last 24 hours by a man from the UK. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 76 people who recently came from the UK. Of these, 53 tested negative. A total of 10 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
During the last 24 hours, 59,759 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 10.51. A total of 95,76,795 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed that 18 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 3722. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.
Eighty-one of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 5,725 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 425 is not clear. Ernakulam 811, Kozhikode 802, Kollam 684, Pathanamthitta 499, Alappuzha 510, Thrissur 510, Kottayam 447, Malappuram 400, Thiruvananthapuram 268, Kannur 241, Palakkad 117, Wayanad 180, Idukki 167 and Kasaragod 89 were affected by the disease.
The disease affected 51 health workers. Health workers from Kannur 15, Ernakulam 9, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode 6 each, Thrissur 5, Idukki 4, Palakkad, Kasaragod 2 each, Kollam and Pathanamthitta 1 each were affected.
The test results of 7032 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 471, Kollam 430, Pathanamthitta 297, Alappuzha 394, Kottayam 1415, Idukki 154, Ernakulam 826, Thrissur 524, Palakkad 865, Malappuram 422, Kozhikode 744, Wayanad 237, Kannur 220 and Kasaragod 33 were found to be negative today. With this, 71,469 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 8,48,476 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 2,17,434 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,05,926 are under home / institutional quarantine and 11,508 in hospitals. A total of 1,601 people were admitted to hospitals.
There are four new hotspots. The new hotspots are Elavalli (Continental Ward 2) in Thrissur district, Kazhoor (5), Adimali in Idukki district (sub wards 15 and 16) and Thiruvalla municipality (sub ward 11) in Pathanamthitta district. Eight areas were excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 396 hotspots.
