4,905 infected with COVID-19 in Kerala on December 27

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 4,905 people in Kerala on December 27. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Ernakulam 605, Kozhikode 579, Malappuram 517, Kottayam 509, Kollam 501, Pathanamthitta 389, Thrissur 384, Thiruvananthapuram 322, Kannur 289, Alappuzha 231, Wayanad 231, Palakkad 230, Idukki 81 and Kasaragod 37.

A total of 46,116 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 10.64. Routine sample, Sentinel sample, CBNAT, TRUNAT, POCT. PCR, RT A total of 76,95,117 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 25 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 2,976. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Eighty-three of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State. A total of 4,307 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 471 is not clear. Ernakulam 518, Kozhikode 548, Malappuram 480, Kottayam 466, Kollam 484, Pathanamthitta 297, Thrissur 371, Thiruvananthapuram 246, Kannur 240, Alappuzha 216, Wayanad 221, Palakkad 108, Idukki 77 and Kasaragod 35 were affected by the disease.

The disease affected 44 health workers. Health workers from Kannur 11, Ernakulam 9, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode 5 each, Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad 3 each, Kollam, Palakkad 2 each, Kottayam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kasaragod 1 each were affected.

The test results of 3,463 patients who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 248, Kollam 185, Pathanamthitta 148, Alappuzha 208, Kottayam 239, Idukki 78, Ernakulam 450, Thrissur 257, Palakkad 327, Malappuram 503, Kozhikode 447, Wayanad 162, Kannur 158 and Kasaragod 53 were found to be negative. With this, 65,169 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 6,72,196 have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 2,56,614 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,43,465 are under home / institutional quarantine and 13,149 in hospitals. A total of 1141 people were admitted to hospitals.
There are seven new hotspots. Edavaka in Wayanad district (Cantonment zone sub ward 13, 15, 16), Payipad (ward 15) in Kottayam district, Vaikom municipality (15) in Kottayam district, Koruthodu (9), Cherpu in Thrissur district (1), Muthukulam in Alappuzha district (15), The new hotspots are Pattazi (Sub Wards 2 and 12) in Kollam district.

Today four areas were excluded from hotspots list. There are currently a total of 466 hotspots.
