Coronavirus that apparently originated in Wuhan, China has changed the course of everyone’s lives, and people are now maintaining effective social distancing measures to stay away from the virus. However, when it comes to deaths and other tragic incidents, people tend to forget the virus, and used to gather to grieve together. One such incident took place in Minneapolis, United States, where 29 people who attended the funeral have been now tested positive for coronavirus.

Kathleen Keen and her husband were at the funeral of their friend’s father in mid-July. After attending the funeral, both of them developed symptoms of coronavirus, and they soon had their test completed, which suggested that they were positive for the pathogen.

What’s more shocking was they were not alone, 29 out of the 35 people who attended the funeral tested positive for the virus. Keen revealed that everyone wore masks and maintained social distancing until they got to the social hour after the service.

“It was in this fellowship hall and I remember looking at the windows and wishing I could open them. Like, ‘This is not good that everyone is packed together in this room.’ I don’t regret making the choice to be there for my friend. I wish this virus wasn’t happening,” said Keen, CBC Local reports.

Keen also said that her experience should open the eyes of people, and everyone should maintain strict social distancing measures to protect themselves from the virus.
