Setback for Expats: Emirates NBD Introduces New Fees for International Transfers Starting September

Dubai : Emirates NBD Bank has announced a new fee structure for international money transfers made through its mobile app and online banking platform, a move expected to impact expatriates, including a large number of Malayali account holders. The changes will come into effect on September 1, according to an official email sent by the bank to its customers.

Under the new policy, a fee of AED 26.25 will be charged on all international money transfers, including those made via the DirectRemit service, which previously allowed instant transfers to countries such as India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and the UK without any charges.

In addition to international transfers, fees will also be applied for cancelling any local transactions, marking a shift from the current free service structure.

This change is expected to place a financial burden on regular remitters and those making small, frequent transfers abroad.

Customers seeking more details about the updated fee structure can visit the bank’s official website or contact customer service directly.
