Prithviraj aims to fly high with a lineup of ambitious projects

Prithviraj Sukumaran, the multi-talented face of Malayalam cinema is now one of the most valuable South Indian stars who enjoy a mammoth fan following in all nooks of the nation. Until 2019, Prithviraj was just an actor, but last year, he proclaimed himself as a master craftsman by directing Lucifer with Mohanlal in the lead role. The film emerged as a huge success at the box-office, and it clearly indicated that Prithvi is a filmmaker with an uncompromising sense of cinematic language.

Prithviraj began 2020 with a bang, as his drama-thriller ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ succeeded in impressing the masses, and emerged as a huge hit at the box-office. The upcoming movies from Prithviraj, both as an actor and as a director are all promising, and we take you to a ride through his future projects.

Aadujeevitham

Aadujeevitham, directed by Blessy is one of the most ambitious projects in the career of Prithviraj. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Benyamin.

Prithviraj will be seen playing the role of Najeeb, a young man who faces hardships in the Arabian deserts in this film. The film has all the potentials to emerge as a cult classic, and several film critics believe that Prithviraj may even bag a national award for this movie.

Apart from Prithviraj Sukumaran, this film also stars Amala Paul, Lakshmi Sharma, Santhosh Keezhattur, Aparna Balamurali, and Lena in other prominent roles. The music of this movie is composed by none other than Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman.

An official announcement regarding the release date of this movie will be confirmed in the coming days.

Kaduva

Kaduva marks the comeback of Mollywood hitmaker Shaji Kailas. The film is expected to handle a real incident that happened in southern Kerala.

A first look poster of the movie which was released a few months back showed Prithviraj Sukumaran sitting gloriously over a police vehicle, with trashed policemen surrounded everywhere.

In all probabilities, Kaduva will be a high voltage action thriller, which will have umpteen numbers of mass scenes to enthrall the audiences. If everything goes well, the filming of Kaduva is expected to begin soon after the end of coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Vaariyamkunnan

Vaariyamkunnan is a movie that was shrouded with controversies since the day of its announcement. The film is based on the 1921 Mappillai Rebellion. Due to the script writer’s old Facebook posts that oozed communalism, extreme Hindutwa groups started protesting against the movie, and finally, he decided to back out from the project.

However, director Aashiq Abu has revealed that the project will be materialized with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. In the movie, Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen essaying the role of Variyan Kunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, a Kerala Muslim warrior who established a parallel government to fight against the British regime.

Empuraan

Mollywood audiences all across the globe are eagerly waiting to see the dark past of Abraam Qureshi, and to unravel all the mysteries, Epuraan should grace the theaters. This movie is a sequel to Lucifer, and the filming is expected to begin next year.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is directing this film, and he will also play the role of Sayed Masood, a dreaded henchman and a close aid of Qureshi in this flick. Empuraan will be shot with a mammoth budget, and film critics believe that it could be turn out to be the most stylish film ever made in Mollywood.

Apart from the above-mentioned films, Prithviraj Sukumaran has apparently given a positive nod to some other movies that include, Kaaliyan, Karachi 81, Ayyappan and Railway Guard.
