Dubai : As of May 15, 2025, the Philippine peso has depreciated against the UAE dirham, with the exchange rate hovering between ₱15.16 and ₱15.20 per dirham. This shift offers a favorable window for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the UAE to remit money back home.
Earlier this month, the peso had strengthened to ₱15.07 per dirham on May 9, following a period of volatility where it had previously dipped to ₱15.35 in late April. The recent depreciation is attributed to a firmer US dollar, with the dollar index rising above 100, influencing the peso’s performance.
Financial analysts suggest that the current exchange rates are advantageous for OFWs who regularly send remittances, potentially increasing the value received by beneficiaries in the Philippines.
For the most accurate and up-to-date exchange rates, it’s recommended to consult official financial institutions or trusted currency exchange platforms.
