Muscat: Oman’s Nama Power & Water Procurement Company has received competitive bids from 12 major global and regional developers for its strategic Independent Power Projects (IPP) at Misfah in Muscat Governorate and Duqm in Al Wusta.

The ambitious projects, involving two combined-cycle gas turbine power plants with a total generation capacity of 2,400 MW, have sparked strong international interest, highlighting Oman’s robust investment environment and promising energy landscape.
High-profile global companies competing for these projects include Samsung C&T Corporation, Korea Western Power, Marubeni Corporation, Sumitomo, Reliance Power, Sembcorp Utilities, and Shenzhen Energy Group. They are joined by leading regional firms Acwa Power, Nebras Power, Al Ghanim International, Etihad Water and Electricity Company, and Al Jomaih Energy & Water Company, according to an official statement from Nama.
