Kerala reports 1,989 COVID-19 cases on March 25

OVID-19 has been confirmed for 1,989 in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 301, Kannur 205, Thiruvananthapuram 202, Malappuram 193, Ernakulam 188, Kottayam 152, Kollam 147, Alappuzha 110, Pathanamthitta 101, Thrissur 94, Kasaragod 92, Idukki 89, Palakkad 72 and Wayanad 43.

One person from South Africa was confirmed to have COVID-19 within the last 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 108 people from the UK (102), South Africa (5) and Brazil (1). Of these, 101 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 51,027 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 3.9. A total of 1,28,61,734 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed today that 12 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,539.

Today, 75 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State. 1746 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 153 is not clear. Kozhikode 292, Kannur 150, Thiruvananthapuram 160, Malappuram 185, Ernakulam 182, Kottayam 132, Kollam 137, Alappuzha 107, Pathanamthitta 75, Thrissur 92, Kasaragod 85, Idukki 86, Palakkad 22 and Wayanad 41 were affected by contact.

Fifteen health workers were affected. Health workers from Kannur 8, Kollam 3, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode 2 were affected.

The test results of 1,865 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 175, Kollam 135, Pathanamthitta 104, Alappuzha 111, Kottayam 128, Idukki 59, Ernakulam 171, Thrissur 185, Palakkad 45, Malappuram 185, Kozhikode 296, Wayanad 43, Kannur 147 and Kasaragod 81 had negative results today. With this, 24,380 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,82,668 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,27,105 different districts in the state under surveillance. Of these, 1,23,359 are under home / institutional quarantine and 3746 in hospitals. A total of 534 people were admitted to the hospital today.

Today there are three new hotspots and four areas were excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 353 hotspots.
