Kerala reports 1,825 cases of COVID-19 on Friday

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 1,825 people in Kerala today. The district-wise number of infected are Kozhikode 262, Kannur 245, Kollam 173, Ernakulam 171, Thiruvananthapuram 150, Thrissur 137, Alappuzha 117, Kottayam 111, Kasaragod 104, Malappuram 103, Pathanamthitta 87, Palakkad 65, Idukki 60 and Wayanad 40.
No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 108 people from the UK (102), South Africa (5) and Brazil (1). Of these, 101 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
A total of 52,252 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 3.49. A total of 1,29,13,986 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
Today, it has been confirmed that 14 deaths in the last few days are due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,553.
Seventy-one of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 1,612 people were infected through contact. Contact sources for 130 are not clear. Kozhikode 251, Kannur 191, Kollam 171, Ernakulam 165, Thiruvananthapuram 106, Thrissur 131, Alappuzha 115, Kottayam 97, Kasaragod 91, Malappuram 98, Pathanamthitta 76, Palakkad 27, Idukki 57 and Wayanad 36 were affected by contact.
Twelve health workers were affected. Health workers from Kannur 6, Kottayam, Kozhikode and Kasaragod 2 each contracted the disease.
The test results of 1917 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 128, Kollam 155, Pathanamthitta 114, Alappuzha 95, Kottayam 145, Idukki 58, Ernakulam 326, Thrissur 139, Palakkad 74, Malappuram 220, Kozhikode 243, Wayanad 32, Kannur 140 and Kasaragod 48 were found to be negative today. With this, 24,274 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,84,585 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,27,542 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 1,23,751 are under home / institutional quarantine and 3791 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 519 people were admitted to hospitals today.
Today there is a new hot spot and no area has been excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 354 hotspots.
