India Reopens 32 Airports Following Ceasefire with Pakistan

India has reopened 32 airports that were temporarily closed amid recent border tensions with Pakistan. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced on Monday morning that these airports are now available for civil aircraft operations with immediate effect, lifting the previous Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that had suspended operations until May 15, 2025 .

This decision follows a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement reached over the weekend between India and Pakistan, leading to a significant de-escalation of hostilities along the Line of Control and the International Border . The reopening of these airports is expected to restore normalcy in regional air travel.

Major Indian carriers, including IndiGo, have announced plans to progressively resume flights on the routes that were affected by the airport closures . Travelers are advised to check flight statuses directly with airlines and monitor their websites for regular updates.
