India records spike of 24,410 fresh COVID-19 cases

India has recorded another 24,010 fresh coronavirus cases, taking India’s total number of cases to 99,56,558 in the past 24 hours.

Among the 99.5 lakh cases, the number of active Covid-19 cases stand at 3,22,366 while 94,89,740 have so far recovered from the disease with another 33,291 being discharged in 24 hours.

Apart from the fresh Covid-19 cases, India also recorded 355 deaths taking the coronavirus death toll to 1,44,451.

India;s recovery rate improves to 95.31 percent.

According to the ICMR, 15,78,05,240 samples have been tested up to December 16 with 11,58,960 samples being tested on Wednesday.
