COVID-19: 7006 new positive cases in Kerala on September 26

Kerala reported 7006 COVID-19 cases on September 26 and 3,199 patients were cured, the Health Department said in a press statement. The total number of covid-19 cases in the state stands at 1,67,939 and 1,14,450 cured from the infection.

Of the new cases recorded, 6004 contracted the disease through contact. The source of infection of 664 remains unknown.

Twenty one deaths were reported in the state taking the total death toll to 656.

As many as 68 infected persons came from abroad while 177 came from other states. The total number positive cases in Thiruvananthapuram crossed 1000-mark. Ninety-three health workers were also confirmed of COVID-19.

The district-wise break up of positive cases are: 1050 from Thiruvananthapuram, 826 from Malappuram, 729 from Ernakulam, 684 from Kozhikode, 594 from Thrissur, 589 from Kollam, 547 from Palakkad, 435 from Kannur, 414 from Alappuzha, 389 from Kottayam, 329 from Pathanamthitta, 224 from Kasaragod, 107 from Idukki, 89 from Wayanad.
