COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2475 people in the state today. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Kozhikode 341, Malappuram 283, Ernakulam 244, Pathanamthitta 233, Kollam 201, Thrissur 195, Kottayam 180, Thiruvananthapuram 178, Alappuzha 171, Kannur 123, Kasaragod 121, Idukki 85, Wayanad 63 and Palakkad 57 districts were diagnosed with the disease today.
COVID-19 has not been confirmed in the last 24 hours by anyone from the UK. With this, COVID-19 has so far been confirmed for 100 people who recently came from the UK (98) and South Africa (2). Of these, 83 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
During the last 24 hours, 62,486 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 3.96. A total of 1,20,60,313 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed that 14 deaths in the last few days are due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,342.
Seventy-five of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 2,235 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 153 is not clear. Kozhikode 331, Malappuram 272, Ernakulam 234, Pathanamthitta 218, Kollam 194, Thrissur 182, Kottayam 172, Thiruvananthapuram 112, Alappuzha 166, Kannur 85, Kasaragod 106, Idukki 82, Wayanad 62 and Palakkad 19 were affected by the disease.
Twelve health workers were affected. Palakkad 6, Ernakulam, Kannur 2 each, Kollam and Kozhikode 1 each were affected by the disease.
The test results of 4,192 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 250, Kollam 250, Pathanamthitta 362, Alappuzha 139, Kottayam 281, Idukki 90, Ernakulam 1000, Thrissur 264, Palakkad 130, Malappuram 211, Kozhikode 519, Wayanad 248, Kannur 348 and Kasaragod 100 were negative today. With this, 35,418 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,43,473 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,62,766 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,57,648 are under home / institutional quarantine and 5,118 in hospitals. A total of 616 people were admitted to the hospital today.
There are three new hotspots and four areas were excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 351 hotspots.
