2,133 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on March 11

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,133 people in Kerala on March 11. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 261, Pathanamthitta 206, Ernakulam 205, Kannur 200, Kottayam 188, Malappuram 179, Thrissur 172, Alappuzha 168, Kollam 152, Kasaragod 117, Thiruvananthapuram 116, Palakkad 88, Idukki 46 and Wayanad 35.

COVID-19 has not been confirmed in the last 24 hours by anyone from the UK. With this, COVID-19 has so far been confirmed for 100 people who recently came from the UK (98) and South Africa (2). Of these, 83 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 69,838 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 3.05. A total of 1,21,30,151 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 13 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,355.

Seventy-seven of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state and 1,862 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 180 is not clear. Kozhikode 228, Pathanamthitta 184, Ernakulam 198, Kannur 137, Kottayam 174, Malappuram 172, Thrissur 165, Alappuzha 163, Kollam 148, Kasaragod 109, Thiruvananthapuram 78, Palakkad 30, Idukki 44 and Wayanad 32 were affected by contact.

Fourteen health workers were infected. Health workers from Kannur 8, Ernakulam 2, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kasaragod 1 each were affected.

The test results of 3,753 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 193, Kollam 543, Pathanamthitta 295, Alappuzha 317, Kottayam 498, Idukki 75, Ernakulam 557, Thrissur 241, Palakkad 57, Malappuram 265, Kozhikode 388, Wayanad 77, Kannur 125 and Kasaragod 122 were found to be negative today. With this, 33,785 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,47,226 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,59,401 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,54,375 are under home / institutional quarantine and 5,026 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 594 people were admitted to hospitals.

There are two new hotspots and six areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 347 hotspots.
