UAE extends Golden Residency to more professionals

The UAE Golden Residency, a ten-year residency visa, will be granted to residents with PhD degree holders, in addition to medical doctors and engineers in the fields of computer engineering, electronics, programming, electrical engineering and biotechnology; graduates from UAE-accredited universities who scored Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.8 and above will also qualify. Specialists in artificial intelligence or AI, big data, virology, epidemiology and UAE high school top graduates and their families are also eligible.

This was announced by the UAE Cabinet in order to attract and retain experts and talented professionals from various fields and scientific disciplines. The new categories are aimed to further encourage innovation, creativity and applied research.

The changes will come into effect on December 1, 2020.
