38,460 people confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on May 7

 

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 38,460 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Ernakulam 5,361, Kozhikode 4,200, Thiruvananthapuram 3,950, Malappuram 3,949, Thrissur 3,738, Kannur 3,139, Palakkad 2,968, Kollam 2,422, Alappuzha 2,160, Kottayam 2,153, Pathanamthitta 1,191, Wayanad 1,173, Idukki 1,117 and Kasaragod 939.

During the last 24 hours, 1,44,345 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 26.64. A total of 1,67,60,815 samples have been tested so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. It has been confirmed today that 54 deaths in the last few days have been caused by Kovid-19. This brings the total death toll to 5,682.

Today, 370 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 35,402 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 2,573 is not clear. Ernakulam 5,238, Kozhikode 4,067, Thiruvananthapuram 3,657, Malappuram 3,615, Thrissur 3,711, Kannur 2,981, Palakkad 1,332, Kollam 2,411, Alappuzha 2,153, Kottayam 1,981, Pathanamthitta 1,130, Wayanad 1,127, Idukki 1,091 and Kasaragod 908 were affected by the disease.

A total of 115 health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers in Kannur 29, Wayanad 14, Thrissur 13, Ernakulam, Kasaragod 12 each, Kozhikode 9, Pathanamthitta 7, Palakkad 6, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam 5 each and Idukki 3 were affected.

The test results of 26,662 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 2,363, Kollam 1,405, Pathanamthitta 860, Alappuzha 1745, Kottayam 3,063, Idukki 391, Ernakulam 2,735, Thrissur 1,837, Palakkad 3,200, Malappuram 3,224, Kozhikode 3,194, Wayanad 277, Kannur 1,664 and Kasaragod 704 were found to be negative today. With this, 4,02,650 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 14,16,177 people have so far been freed from COVID.

There are currently 10,50,633 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 10,20,652 are under home / institutional quarantine and 29,981 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 61,036 people were newly monitored today.

Today there are 65 new hotspots. No area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 788 hotspots.
