2,035 people infected with COVID-19 in Kerala on March 13

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 2,035 people in Kerala on March 13. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Kozhikode 255, Ernakulam 232, Kollam 224, Kannur 205, Malappuram 173, Kottayam 168, Thiruvananthapuram 162, Thrissur 153, Alappuzha 133, Kasaragod 84, Palakkad 80, Pathanamthitta 70, Wayanad 53 and Idukki 43.
COVID-19 was confirmed within the last 24 hours for one person from South Africa and one person from Brazil. So far, 103 people from the UK (99), South Africa (3) and Brazil (1) have been confirmed for the Covid-19. Of these, 89 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
During the last 24 hours, 58,344 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 3.49. A total of 1,22,40,629 samples have been sent for testing so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 12 deaths in the last few days were due to Kovid-19. This brings the total death toll to 4381.
Forty eight of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State. 1807 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 167 is not clear. Kozhikode 245, Ernakulam 228, Kollam 218, Kannur 141, Malappuram 160, Kottayam 154, Thiruvananthapuram 108, Thrissur 151, Alappuzha 132, Kasaragod 76, Palakkad 41, Pathanamthitta 64, Wayanad 52 and Idukki 37 were affected by contact.
Thirteen health workers were infected. Health workers from Kannur 7, Ernakulam, Kasaragod 2, Kollam and Kozhikode 1 each were affected.
The test results of 3,256 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 191, Kollam 361, Pathanamthitta 82, Alappuzha 198, Kottayam 263, Idukki 67, Ernakulam 747, Thrissur 436, Palakkad 56, Malappuram 243, Kozhikode 330, Wayanad 69, Kannur 108 and Kasaragod 105 were negative today. With this, 30,939 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,53,859 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,53,813 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,49,361 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4452 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 471 people were admitted to hospitals.
There is a new hot spot and an area is excluded from the hotspot. There are currently a total of 351 hotspots.
