UN Secretary-General holds talks with Omani Ruler

Muscat : United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke by telephone with Omani Ruler Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Antonio Guterres praised the Sultanate’s critical role in advancing peace efforts, reducing tensions and fostering stability in the region.
The Secretary-General praised Oman’s efforts to restore maritime traffic in the Red Sea and mediate to end the standoff between the United States and Yemeni authorities in Sanaa, as well as its mediation efforts in the nuclear talks between Iran and the United States. The Sultan told the Secretary-General that Oman’s commitment to the well-being and peace of all nations was the reason for such interventions.
