Dubai: Motorists across the UAE are advised to drive with caution today as the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow and red alert due to dense fog, particularly in Abu Dhabi. The fog is expected to persist in some areas until 9:00 AM.
According to the NCM, early morning fog was reported over Liwa, Habshan, Asab, and Nahil in Abu Dhabi. In a public advisory posted on X (formerly Twitter), Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to exercise caution due to low visibility and to adhere to the variable speed limits displayed on electronic signboards.
Following heavy rainfall and thunderstorms during the Eid Al Adha weekend in Sharjah, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah, the NCM has forecast that rainy conditions may persist into Monday.
While the day is expected to remain generally fair, there is a chance of convective cloud development in eastern and northern regions, potentially bringing sporadic rainfall. Temperatures are predicted to rise slightly, contributing to warmer weather conditions across the country.
During the night and into Tuesday morning, humidity levels are expected to increase, raising the likelihood of fog and mist formation, especially in coastal and western internal areas. Winds will remain light to moderate, with occasional gusts that may cause dust and sand disturbances. Cloud movements are also expected to vary throughout the day.
