On September 03, at around 04.00 PM, director VA Shrikumar announced on his Facebook page that his next movie titled ‘Mission Konkan’ will be based on the valor of Mappila Khalasis. The director also revealed that his film will be a mega-budget outing, and it will be made in several Indian languages.
Interestingly, at 06.00 PM, Janapriya Nayakan Dileep announced his next film, and the name of this movie is ‘Khalasi’. It should be noted that this movie will be also portraying the bravery of Khalasis and their patriotism.
As both Dileep and VA Shrikumar have announced different movies on the same subject, industry experts believe that these films will run into controversies in the coming days. Dileep and Shrikumar are also considered arch-rivals in the industry for several professional and personal reasons, and their race to make different movies on the same theme will surely open scope for debate.
‘Mission Konkan’ is produced by Shrikumar himself in the banner of Earth and Air Films. In his recent press release, VA Shrikumar revealed that several Hollywood technicians will be working in his film. The film will also have several top names from Bollywood, Mollywood, Kollywood, and Tollywood in the lead roles.
On the other hand, Dileep’s Khalasi will be directed by Mithilaj Abdul, the program director of Comedy Utsavam, a show that is being aired in Flowers TV. The script of the movie is being written by Mithilaj, Anuroop Koyilandi, and Satheesh. Khalasi is produced by Gokulam Gopalan in the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies.
