NIRMAL YESODA

Mollywood filmmaker VA Shrikumar entered the industry with a bang with the movie ‘Odiyan’. Even though released with huge pre-release hype, the film received mixed reviews from audiences, but it managed to emerge as a safe bet for the producer. After ‘Odiyan’, VA Shrikumar was supposed to do a movie based on M T Vasudevan Nair’s Randamoozham. The film was announced by the filmmaker with Mohanlal in the lead role, but due to creative differences with the writer, Shrikumar was compelled to postpone the film.

Now, Shrikumar has confirmed that he will be doing a multi-lingual film named Mission Konkan. In his recent Facebook post, the director also shared the first look poster of the movie. In another press release, Shrikumar revealed that this upcoming movie will be based on the valor and bravery of Mappila Khalasis.

Acclaimed writer T D Ramakrishnan is penning the script for this movie. VA Shrikumar himself is producing the movie in the banner of Earth and Air Films. Several top stars from Bollywood, Kollywood and Mollywood will play crucial roles in this movie. An official announcement regarding the complete cast and crew of the movie will be made in the coming days.

In the press release, VA Shrikumar revealed that the film will directly shot in Hindi, which means, Mission Konkan is marking the director’s Bollywood debut. Apart from Hindi, this film will also have simultaneous release in other regional languages as well.

The film will be made with a huge budget, and the shooting is expected to begin in December. Shrikumar revealed that several Hollywood technicians will be also a part of this film. The major locations of this film will be Ratnagiri, Delhi, Goa, Beypur, Kozhikode, and Palakkad.
