The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, lit up to wish Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan a happy 55th birthday on November 2.
The actor posted a picture of himself on Instagram in front of the world’s tallest tower. “It’s nice to see myself on the biggest and tallest screen in the world,” he posted. “Being my own guest in Dubai… my kids mighty impressed and me is loving it!”
The actor and his family are currently in Dubai for the ongoing Indian Premier League. He owns the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.
Wishing the star a happy birthday, the KKR team tweeted: “Special wishes from the boys for our main Knight without whom the KKR family is incomplete!”
On his birthday this year, Shah Rukh Khan posted a video, thanking his friends and fans for all the love and wishes. “Hi everybody, this is to thank you for all the wonderful wishes I have been getting on the social media. How much love you guys are spreading…More than wishing me on my birthday, I know of some of the work you boys and girls have been doing. Giving you time and resources to people who are in need right now… The PPE kits, the blood donations you have been doing, and helping out people everywhere. Because you can’t be a lover boy like me without spreading love. So thank you all for spreading the love from far, from near, whatever resources you have,” he can be heard saying in the clip.
Last year too, Burj Khalifa was lit up with the name of Shah Rukh Khan to honour the actor on his birthday.
Burj Khalifa’s official Twitter account added: @#BurjKhalifa adds sparkle to the birthday celebration of the Baadshah of Bollywood! Happy birthday @iamsrk! #ShahRukhKhan.”
Burj Khalifa lights up to wish celebrities and leaders on their birthdays as well as wish nations on their national days. Festivals and other specials days world over also get highlighted on the tallest tower.
Recent specials displays included New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for her empathy for Muslim victims of a terror attack and Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian flag on the Father of the Nation’s 150th birth anniversary.
