Oman and Bahrain collaborate to enhance quality of school education

MUSCAT : Chaired by Dr. Jokha bint Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of the OAAAQA, the meeting, held with a team of trainers from Bahrain’s ETQA, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and partnership between educational institutions in both nations.

The main focus of the meeting was to enhance collaboration between Oman and Bahrain in ensuring the quality of school education. Both sides discussed the exchange of experiences and knowledge to contribute to the sustainable development of educational practices, with a particular emphasis on improving school performance evaluation.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the discussion of the upcoming External Auditors Preparation Program, which will take place from tomorrow, Tuesday, until February 27. The program will be implemented across three governorates in Oman, with the aim of training external auditors to assess school performance based on established standards. It also aims to equip auditors with the skills needed to collect and analyse data, develop accurate evaluation reports, and enhance the effectiveness of diagnostic practices.

The OAAAQA emphasized the crucial role of the Center of School Education Quality Assurance team in supporting the program. The team will provide both technical and logistical assistance to ensure the program runs smoothly and meets its objectives with high efficiency.

The training program is designed to ensure a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Participants will undergo field training in cooperating schools, and a set of precise criteria will be used to evaluate their performance during and after the training.

The OAAAQA also highlighted the rigorous selection process for participants, which involved evaluating submitted data and prioritizing applicants through an objective classification system. In the first phase of the program, the Authority aims to qualify 150 external auditors to enhance the quality and effectiveness of school education assessments in Oman.
