India’s first mobile lab for COVID-19 testing launched

India’s first mobile laboratory for COVID-9 testing has been inaugurated in Delhi by Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. The van will be deployed in interior, inaccessible parts of the country to promote last mile testing access. It has the testing capacity to perform 25 RT-PCR tests per day, 300 ELISA tests per day and additional tests for TB, HIV as per CGHS rates.”

While launching the mobile lab, the health minister spoke of India’s expanded arsenal of testing facilities for Covid-19.  “We had started the fight against COVID with one laboratory in February. Today, we have 953 laboratories across the country. Out of these 953, around 699 are government labs,” Dr. Harsh Vardhan said.

In the last 24 hours, 7,390 people were cured of COVID-19 and a total of 1,94,324 people were cured until now. There are 1,60,384 people were under treatment for COVID in the country

There are now 699 government labs and 254 private labs for testing COVID-19. In total there are 699 labs. In the last 24 hours, 1.65,412 samples were tested in the country and a total of 62,49.668 samples were tested so far.
