During the last 24 hours, 60,613 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 8.83. A total of 82,85,394 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
Twenty-five deaths in the last few days have been confirmed due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 3,234. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.
Seventy-eight of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 4,489 people were infected through contact. The source of the 448 contact details is not clear. Ernakulam 596, Kottayam 480, Pathanamthitta 471, Kozhikode 450, Malappuram 417, Alappuzha 425, Thrissur 418, Kollam 284, Thiruvananthapuram 176, Idukki 263, Wayanad 232, Palakkad 82, Kannur 111 and Kasaragod 84 were affected by the disease.
Thirty-six health workers were affected. Ernakulam 7, Kozhikode 6, Kannur 5, Kollam, Thrissur 4 each, Thiruvananthapuram 3, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad 2 each, Idukki, Palakkad and Kasaragod 1 each.
The test results of 5,638 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 340, Kollam 270, Pathanamthitta 545, Alappuzha 485, Kottayam 349, Idukki 65, Ernakulam 1102, Thrissur 395, Palakkad 210, Malappuram 545, Kozhikode 517, Wayanad 256, Kannur 458 and Kasaragod 101 were found to be negative. With this, 64,445 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 7,28,060 have so far been freed from COVID-19

There are currently 1,93,370 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 1,81,935 are under home / institutional quarantine and 11,435 in hospitals. A total of 1379 people were admitted to hospitals.
There are three new hotspots. The new hotspots are Pandalam Municipality (Cantonment Zone Sub Wards 31 and 32) in Pathanamthitta district, Ottapalam Municipality (27) and Puthupariyaram (11) in Palakkad district. Three areas were excluded from the hotspot list. With this, there are currently a total of 446 hotspots.

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 5,615 people in Kerala on January 5. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Ernakulam 719, Kottayam 715, Pathanamthitta 665, Thrissur 616, Kollam 435, Kozhikode 426, Alappuzha 391, Thiruvananthapuram 388, Malappuram 385, Palakkad 259, Kannur 252, Wayanad 175, Idukki 131 and Kasaragod 58.

COVID-19was confirmed within the last 24 hours by 2 people from the UK. With this, Kovid-19 has so far been confirmed for 41 people who recently came from the UK. Their samples have been sent to NIV Pune for further testing. In 6 of them, the genetically modified virus was detected on January 4.

During the last 24 hours, 61,269 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 9.16. A total of 81,60,890 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

It has been confirmed that 24 deaths in the last few days have been caused by COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 3,184. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Fifty-nine of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 5,037 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 475 is not clear. Ernakulam 655, Kottayam 670, Pathanamthitta 602, Thrissur 603, Kollam 432, Kozhikode 399, Alappuzha 382, Thiruvananthapuram 271, Malappuram 360, Palakkad 110, Kannur 204, Wayanad 167, Idukki 126 and Kasaragod 56 were affected by the disease.

The disease affected 44 health workers. Pathanamthitta 8, Thrissur, Kozhikode 6 each, Ernakulam 5, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur 4 each, Malappuram 3, Kollam, Wayanad, Kasaragod 2 each, Kottayam and Palakkad 1 each were affected by the disease.
The test results of 4,922 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 284, Kollam 283, Pathanamthitta 327, Alappuzha 304, Kottayam 707, Idukki 140, Ernakulam 401, Thrissur 520, Palakkad 251, Malappuram 495, Kozhikode 655, Wayanad 171, Kannur 341 and Kasaragod 43 were found to be negative today. With this, 63,802 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 7,17,311 have so far been freed from Kovid.

There are currently 1,90,990 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 1,79,868 are under home / institutional quarantine and 11,122 in hospitals. A total of 1,082 people were admitted to hospitals.

There are four new hotspots. The new hotspots are Adimali in Idukki district (Cantonment zone sub ward 1), Pandanad (sub ward 12) in Alappuzha district, Muriyad (7) in Thrissur district and Puthige (8) in Kasaragod district.
Six areas were excluded from the hotspot. With this, there are currently a total of 445 hotspots.

There are currently 2,43,828 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 2,31,831 are under home / institutional quarantine and 11,997 in hospitals. A total of 1384 people were admitted to hospitals.

Thiruvananthapuram 392, Kollam 389, Pathanamthitta 243, Alappuzha 479, Kottayam 517, Idukki 222, Ernakulam 780, Thrissur 451, Palakkad 333, Malappuram 609, Kozhikode 718, Wayanad 217, Kannur 201 and Kasaragod 156 were found to be negative today. With this, 65,394 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 6,87,104 have so far been freed from COVID.

There were currently 2,47,725 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,35,609 are under home / institutional quarantine and 12,116 in hospitals. A total of 1426 people were admitted to hospitals.
