There has been no official decision to lockdown Bangalore City, said the police commissioner of the city. He clarified that people should not believe in rumours about a shutdown and that the authorities were closely observing the situation in the city.
Chief Minister B.S. Yeduyurappa has urged the people of the city to strictly observe restrictions if they didn’t want the city to be locked down again. He also made it clear that tightening of restrictions would be decided after meetings in June 26 and June 27.
Four officers in the Chief Minister’s office were confirmed with COVID-19. Three people in charge of the security at Krishna, the official residence of the Chief Minister and an electrician were confirmed with the infection on June 26. All officials in the residence would be subjected to testing immediately.
