Abu Dhabi : Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced the suspension of all flights to and from the UAE until June 30, citing regional airspace disruptions following Iran’s missile strikes on a U.S. base in Qatar.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the airline said several of its flights had to be diverted to alternate airports on Monday evening due to the closure of multiple airspaces in the region.
“The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” the airline said.
The announcement closely follows a similar move by parent company Wizz Air, the Hungarian low-cost carrier, which also suspended operations to the UAE amid escalating regional tensions.
“We will keep you informed as the situation evolves,” the airline added.
