Watch International Space Station cross over Oman tonight

Muscat : The Oman Astronomical Society (OAS) is inviting the public to witness a spectacular celestial event today, Monday, February 3, as the International Space Station (ISS) makes its transit across the skies at an astonishing speed of 27,600 km/h.

The ISS will be visible at 6:41 pm, and the entire transit will last for only 6 minutes. It will move from the northwest to the southeast, soaring at an altitude of 421 km above sea level.

OAS offers following tips for watching:

  • Choose an open place away from lights.
  • Prepare your phone camera in advance to capture the moment.
  • Wait for a bright star to appear moving quickly across the sky.
  • Be mindful of the time limit.
