Virat Kohli reacts after becoming the first cricketer to cross 100million followers on Instagram

India captain Virat Kohli has reacted after becoming the first cricketer to 100 million followers on Instagram. The 32-year-old on Wednesday, shared a video showing his Instagram images one after the other, and wrote, “You have made this journey beautiful. Feeling blessed and grateful for all the love.”

Virat Kohli is the first India, first Asian, 1st cricketer and only the 4th athlete after footballers Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar to hit the 100 million followers’ mark on the social media platform owned by Facebook.

Also, Kohli is the only cricketer in the world’s top-10 highest-earning sportspersons through sponsored posts on Instagram. Cristiano Ronaldo the most followed sportsperson on Instagram with 265 million followers. Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is second on the list with 186 million followers, while Brazil star forward Neymar is on third with 147 million followers.

Virat Kohli, who enjoys massive fan across all social media platforms, beat the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhat, and Deepika Padukone to become the first Indian to gain as many as 100 million Instagram followers. Kohli also holds the top position as the country’s most valuable celebrity brand with a brand value of $237.7 million, according to a leading brand valuation.

Kohli is presently in Ahmedabad and gearing up to lead Team India in the fourth and final Test against England. After being stunned in the opening Test match, India made a solid comeback and registered two back-to-back wins. Kohli-led India lead the series 2-1 and need at least a draw to ensure their chances of reaching the World Test Championship final.
