Vijay gearing up for movie with this filmmaker after 17 years, confirmation awaits

It was around 17 years back that Vijay became a south Indian icon following the release of Khushi, directed by S J Suryah. The film was a huge hit at the blockbuster, and Vijay literally expanded his fan following in states like Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. And now, the latest reports indicate that the actor is keen to play the lead role in a movie which will be directed by S J Suryah.

Even though no official confirmation has been made yet, close sources to the actor reveal that S J Suryah has already narrated a script to Thalapathy, and he is apparently happy with it.

According to reports, this upcoming movie is expected to be a romantic thriller, and it will be tentatively titled Thalapathy 66.

Even though Vijay has not acted in a movie directed by S J Suryah since 2003, the duo shared screen space in Mersal.

In the meantime, industry buzz suggests that Thalapathy 65 will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Nelson is one of the most promising filmmakers in Kollywood, and he is known for making movies like Kolamavu Kokila, and Doctor.

Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his new movie ‘Master’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also has Vijay Sethupathi playing another crucial role. The teaser of the film was released recently, and it garnered positive reviews from all corners.
