Abu Dhabi : Donald Trump made history by becoming the first US president to visit the UAE after a gap of almost 20 years. After visiting Saudi Arabia and Qatar, he arrived in Abu Dhabi this afternoon, the final leg of Trump’s Middle East tour. This is Trump’s first official foreign trip since becoming president for the second time.
In Abu Dhabi, He visited major national monuments including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. He is staying at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Hotel, located on the banks of the Grand Canal. Qasr Al Wathban, known as the “Palace of the Nation”, is the meeting place of the Federal Supreme Council, the constitutional authority of the UAE, and the official meeting center of the government. Completed in 2017, this palace is located in the Ras Al Akhdar district, covering an area of 380,000 square meters.
It is the official residence of the Crown Prince and Vice President of Abu Dhabi. It also houses public areas, including the 60-meter-high domed Great Hall. One of the largest mosques in the world, this place of worship is the vision of the UAE’s founding leader, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Construction began in 1996 and was inaugurated with the Eid al-Adha prayer in 2007.
