UAE weather: Red and yellow fog alerts issued in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Foggy weather conditions were reported over parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra region in the UAE, this morning. The Met office issued red and yellow alerts, warning that fog cover was expected over some internal areas till 9.30am.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) foggy weather conditions were reported over Al Lisaili, Al Qudra, Expo, and Emirates Road areas in Dubai. Foggy conditions were also reported over Saih Shuaib, Sheikh Maktoum bin rashed road Al Shahama bridge to Rawdat Al Reef, Razeeb road, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Road from Al Falah towards Ajban, Ghantout, and over Al Rahabah areas in Abu Dhabi.
The NCM also issued red alert over some areas in Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions.

Motorists have been urged to drive carefully due to fog formation causing deterioration in horizontal visibility.The NCM said: “Visibility may drop further at times over some coastal and internal areas, till 9.30am today, December 31”.
According to the NCM, weather conditions across the country are expected to be clear to partly cloudy at times, with a fog or mist formations over some internal and coastal areas.
Temperature highs in the coastal areas of the country will be between 24 and 28 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, temperature lows are expected to be between 13 to 17 degree Celsius, over coastal and island areas.

Light to moderate winds are to be expected with the speed reaching up to 40 km/hr in the coastal region.
