Dubai: Light rain hit some parts of the UAE late last night and this morning. The Met Office has forecasted cloudy weather with a chance of rainfall which may include frozen water over the mountains northward.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) updates, light was reported over Ghantout, Saih Sudaira and Al Faya Road areas in Abu Dhabi, over Saih Al Salam in Dubai, and over An Nayfah area in Al Ain between 8.50pm and 10.50pm yesterday, January 2.
The NCM also reported light rains this morning over Mohamed Bin Zayed City area in Abu Dhabi, over Al Jaddaf, Umm Suqeim, Jumeirah and Al Safa area in Dubai, over Suhaila and Al Dhaid area in Sharjah, over Al Rowdha area in Umm Al Qwain, and over Adhen area in Ras Al Khaimah.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies at times are to be expected over some northern, eastern and coastal areas with rainfall. According to the NCM the rainfall “may include frozen water over the mountains northward.”
