Dubai : Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are to be expected at times over some northern, eastern and coastal areas with a chance of rainfall. The Met Office also forecasts a significant decrease in temperature today, January 2.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an alert for residents who plan to visit the sea, as very rough to moderate conditions are to be expected in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, respectively.
According to the NCM, people need to “avoid swimming or diving in the sea in the rough condition, and avoid going to the sea and conduct marine activities in the rough condition.”

The highest temperatures over the coastal areas today, are forecast to be between 19 and 21 degree Celsius, while the temperature lows will be between 12 and 17 degree Celsius.
Moderate to fresh winds are expected, which will get strong at times over the sea, causing blowing dust inland. The wind speeds over the coastal areas are expected to reach up to 50 km/hr.
