Abu Dhabi : Wizz Air has announced the suspension of all flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, as well as its European routes to Amman, Jordan, effective immediately and continuing until September 15, 2025, citing rising regional tensions in the Middle East.
In addition to flight suspensions, the airline confirmed that it will avoid flying over the airspace of Israel, Iraq, Iran, and Syria until further notice due to ongoing security concerns.
“The safety and security of our passengers, crew, and aircraft is our top priority,” the airline said in an official statement released on June 16. Wizz Air added that it is working closely with aviation and security authorities to monitor the evolving situation.
Passengers who booked directly through the Wizz Air website or mobile app are being contacted with options including rebooking or full refunds. Those who made reservations via third-party travel agencies are advised to get in touch with their respective providers for support.
The airline expressed gratitude to its customers for their patience and understanding, assuring them of continued updates as the situation progresses.
This announcement comes as part of broader regional disruptions in air travel, with several airlines across the Gulf and wider Middle East experiencing cancellations, rerouted flights, and delays in response to the escalating geopolitical developments.
