UAE MoHAP introduces virtual assistance in five languages

Our Correspondent
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched a national awareness platform, including a COVID-19 Information Centre, under the theme “Your Health Our Priority”. The Information Centre features a “Virtual Doctor” service in five languages, to serve different linguistic groups living in the country, Wam reported.
The move is part of the precautionary measures taken by the UAE government to battle the spread of the pandemic and curb the spread of misinformation. It will also help reduce the flow of patients with normal flu symptoms to hospitals in the present circumstances.
The platform will feature all the recommendations, precautions, and guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and MoHAP.
It is divided into six main sections providing scientific and health information, latest information about the COVID and how to prevent it, as well as updated data on the number of infected cases in the UAE.
The “Virtual Doctor” assesses the health condition of the user through a number of questions about their travel date, contact with others, symptoms, and other questions.
After diagnosing the case, the virtual doctor will direct the user to one of the doctors on call who will provide information on how to deal with the case.
The service does not attend to emergency cases, for which users have to visit the nearest health centre or call the national ambulance number 998.
Those wishing to volunteer in the government fight against the COVID-19, can fill out their personal data and choose which sector they wish to volunteer in.
Frequently asked questions or FAQs will answer all inquiries and questions related to important preventive measures that must be followed to avoid Covid infection.
