UAE condemns killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

Our Correspondent

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has condemned “the heinous assassination” of the Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. It stressed that “the state of instability our region is currently going through, and the security challenges it faces, drive us all to work towards averting acts that could lead to escalation and eventually threaten the stability of the entire region”.

In a statement released on November 30, the Ministry said that emanating from its deep conviction on the need to pursue all means for stability in the region, it condemns the assassination which could further fuel conflict in the region.

“Given the current situation in the region, the UAE calls upon all parties to exercise maximum degrees of self restraint to avoid dragging the region into new levels of instability and threat to peace,” the Ministry added.

Iran earthquake

Meanwhile, the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) National Seismic Network confirmed that no tremors were felt in the country after an earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck south Iran at a depth of 10 km at 8.24am on November 29.
This is a natural activity on the borders of the Arabian plate in the southern part of Iran along the Zagros mountains, it explained.
