UAE celebrates Flag Day amid patriotic fervour

ABU DHABI : The UAE celebrated Flag Day with unity and integrity. Flag hoisting took place yesterday morning at 11 am in government and private institutions in the spirit of patriotism. As Flag Day is a weekend holiday tomorrow, Flag Day was observed on the previous working day. It is also an opportunity to renew allegiance and pledge to President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Flag Day was established in 2012 at the behest of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Foreigners also participated in the celebration held at the Ministry and various government and private institutions. Chairman M. A Yousafali and senior officers of Abu Dhabi Police attended. Expatriate Malayali
organizations also gathered in the celebration of Potunad. Special assemblies and artistic programs were staged in schools in the UAE to mark Flag Day.
